Merry Christmas Scott Kazmir

Merry Christmas Scott Kazmir.  Your gift is a minor league deal with the Cleveland Indians.  I consider this a gift given that your career had fallen off the face of the earth, and you were last seen pitching for the Sugarland Skeeters in independent ball.  Kazmir had about 5 good years and was a 2 time All-Star.  But then, his ERA skyrocketed north of 5.00.  I assumed that Kazmir would just fade away.  I guess I was wrong.

1993 Upper Deck Manny Ramirez

I picked up a 1993 Upper Deck Manny Ramirez Rookie Card on eBay for a grand total of 14 cents. I’m no Manny fan, but for that price how can you go wrong? I like the 1993 Upper Deck set. That set also has rookie cards of Jeter and Delgado. I already have a handful of these Ramirez cards, but I have a thing for them I guess. This photo was taken long before Manny was being Manny. Here, Manny was just a bright-eyed youngster who wanted to make it to the bigs. Well, he made it. In this photo, you might notice that Manny is holding someone else’s bat. It looks like the first name is Clyde. Also, you can see billboards for Trimco, Days Inn, and Remax. I found that to be sort of interesting.
